In honour of Meb Keflezighi‘s historic victory at the 118th Boston Marathon, here is an  inspirational passage from his autobiography,  Run to Overcome: The Inspiring Story of an American Champion’s Long-Distance Quest to Achieve a Big Dream.

I also realize that winning doesn’t always mean getting first place; it means getting the best out of yourself. One of my greatest…

I recently came across this great PBS/NOVA documentary about what it takes—physically and mentally—for novice runners to make it through their first marathon. While it originally aired in 2007, its message continues to resonate.

2014 BMO Vancouver Finisher Medals and Shirts

My take on the 2014 BMO Vancouver Finisher Medals and Shirts #yuriruns

I’m pretty underwhelmed by this year’s BMO Vancouver Marathon finisher medals and shirts.  I feel that an event that is billed as a world-class event—and charing near world-class entry fees, on par with the SeaWheeze—they would offer nicer swag.
